ELBOWS - Boundaries

Welcome to my body-wisdom blog. Each day I have picked a body-wisdom card from my forthcoming book "Suzy Prudden's Body Wisdom Book and Cards." Like a Tarot card, Body Wisdom gives you suggestions for the issues of the day and an affirmation to facilitate moving beyond those issues.

ELBOWS

Elbows Represent Boundaries.

Life issues for the Elbows are about boundaries. If you have difficulty creating boundaries that are respected by other people, you may have elbow issues. Boundaries work both ways, enough room for you, or closing off intrusion from others.

AFFIRMATIONS FOR ELBOWS ISSUES
(These are to be used if you have physical pain - like tennis elbow or arthritis - in your elbows and if you frequently experience other people disrespecting your boundaries.)

It's Now Okay To Establish and Maintain My Boundaries Easily and Effortlessly.

ELBOWS

The symbolism of elbows involves establishing boundaries. Does the character have difficulty with boundaries? Are other people constantly violating his boundaries? Is he constantly violating the boundaries of others? Is he "Elbowing in?" Elbows are also a symbol of aggression. “Elbowing your way” through a crowd is part of the English lexicon as is "Making elbow room.

When you draw the Elbow Card you are being asked to look at how you relate to boundaries, yours and the boundaries of others. Do you find that establishing boundaries is easy for you? Do you find that you have difficulty with boundaries? Do you continually encroach on the boundaries? Is that problematic? Do others encroach on your boundaries? How does that effect your relationships - romantic, professional, on the family level? Do you have difficulty verbalizing your need to have your boundaries respected? What has to happen for that to change?

To work with Elbow Issues ask your Higher Self what you need to know about how you are relating to you issues about boundaries, both the way you are experiencing the way other's are respecting your boundaries and the way others are expressing the way you respect their boundaries. Often people with boundary issues are involved in co-dependent relationships. Examine your relationship for ways in which lack of respect for your partner's boundaries leads to co-dependence. When you have an answer, ask your Higher Self what you need to do to shift your relationship with change. Do not judge the answers. Do not get in your own way with doubts about your ability to do whatever comes to your mind. Simply write down what comes to you.

Your affirmation for today is, “It's Now Okay To Establish and Maintain My Boundaries Easily and Effortlessly." Write the affirmation on a 3 x 5 card. Carry it with you, rather than posting it somewhere, and read it numerous times during the day. (If you post it, it will soon become invisible to you and you will get no benefit from it.)
